David S. Córdova is the founder and President of Dacords International. Since the establishment of Dacords in 2002, David has focused his business on strategic planning, product innovation and introduction, and customer closure. He has extensive expertise in both project management and product development for the defense and aerospace industries and the humanitarian health and nutrition sector. In addition, he has a strong background in global marketing, market technology, and business development.
David’s past work includes serving as the Senior Business Development Director for DSM Nutritional Products (DNP) where he focused on Nutrition Improvement Programs (NIP) for Humanitarian relief initiatives. During his time at DSM DNP David also concentrated on traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder; their relationship to health and nutrition; and the contribution of Omega 3 in the cognitive and cardiovascular health.
Prior to joining the DSM's DNP Division, David was DSM's Dyneema Life Protection Global Business Development Vice President for 12 years in the United States, and was based in Zurich Switzerland for the last 5 years. Instrumental in positioning Dyneema as a high end vehicle armor supplier within the US Defense forces; David has built a strong network in the defense and aerospace sector. Prior to establishing Dacords in 2002, David was the Global Marketing Director for Reichhold's Composite Division and was responsible for their industrial resin group.
Additional work experience—2 years as Global Marketing Director for Armor Holdings Inc., and eighteen years with AlliedSignal-Honeywell as Business Manager/Business Development Manager/International Marketing Manager for Spectra Fibers, with Global responsibilities. During his Spectra assignment in Europe, David successfully managed and coordinated the introduction of the Spectra Shield armor system (the first ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fiber helmets within the French Army). David also was a pioneer in developing and introducing polyester fibers as anchoring lines for deep water oil platforms with Petrobras, Brazil.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech. In addition, David has completed a number of Executive Business Administration courses from University of Michigan, Harvard University, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and Georgetown University. David holds over 25 patents for related fibers, armor, and composite technologies.
